That’s where I was going with this as well. If I see shoplifting, I’ll report it. If I see someone pull a gun, I’ll report it. If I see a fist fight, I’ll report it.
But I don’t tell people how to raise their kids.
I was in the old SouthCenter mall yesterday and there was this little mexican kid (looked about 2 or 3) playing in the middle of the common area with no apparent parent around. My wife and I looked around for about a minute and could not find anyone that appeared to be with him, so I walked up and asked him where his mommy was. Just as I did, a mexican guy came up (he had not been around and must have been backtracking, looking for his son) and picked him up by the arms, just below the shoulder. He then proceeded to shake the boy and sternly say something about staying with his parents.
We didn’t approve, but there is absolutely no friggin way we would report that sort of thing. Now, if the father had pulled out a knife or gun, or cold cocked the kid, that would have been different.
My bar is pretty low before I will challenge a parent’s freedom to rear their kids as they see fit and actually get the government involved.
Yeah, WalMart shoppers are going to report suspicious activities, like SOME of them buying guns.

I see something, where do I go to report what I see. Do I go to the secret undercover agent conducting a cleanup in isle 3, or the non-English speaking(wink,wink)shelf stacker in the auto isle. I suppose I won’t need any proof, it’s the severity of the charge after all
