Democrats would be well advised to refrain from getting too giddy about running Hillary in 2012. Competence has never been her forte and her response to the Wikiterrorism is no exception. Though she does acknowledge the WikiLeaks are a bit of a downer, she is not especially perturbed about the threat to the U.S.

"Despite the gravity of the situation, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is doing her best to make light of the U.S. embarrassment. At a reception she hosted Saturday night at the State Department for recipients of this year’s Kennedy Center Honors, who include Oprah Winfrey and Paul McCartney, Clinton said she found it extraordinary to greet so many talented people.

‘I am writing a cable about it, which I’m sure you’ll find soon on your closest website,’ she joked."

We know we must expect Obama to direct foreign policy horribly. The first round of WikiLeaks, after all, were meant primarily to cause damage to our military—not a matter of grave concern to our current Commander in Chief. It’s not as if Julian Assange did something truly heinous, like cut our taxes.

On December 1st, the ever articulate and charismatic White House Press Secretary, Robert Gibbs, assured the nation that the administration is “not scared of one guy with one keyboard and a lap top”– thus perfectly enunciating Obama’s commitment to national security.

The administration has finally taken audacious action, instructing federal employees not to read the leaked documents.

How much damage the leaks themselves cause to the interests of America and our allies is yet to be tallied. The bigger menace to our national security is the Obama administration.

John Bolton:

It is not WikiLeaks that ultimately imperils our national security, but the failing Obama administration, which ignores the nature and extent of threats we face, and which is too often unwilling to act to thwart them. While our economic difficulties have dominated the national debate for two years, national security will inevitably again come to the fore, as Americans see the full extent of the devastation left by Obama’s policies.

Running Hillary or ruining Hillary in 2012? I've heard reports that the Wikileaks information could have put the last nail in her broom, to tweak a metaphor.
