I hope the CIA is smart enough to start discrediting wikileaks by... sending it false "documents." the myth of wikileaks as the 'ultimate truth' has got to be broken. I can't wait for a Shirley Sherrod type - exploding this bubble, once and for all.
The danger is real out there, if the govt. can't stop it now, there will be more waves of destructive, uncontrolled, "progressive" and archaic wikis.
Wikileaks has nothing without leakers.
I don’t want the Government to be able to stop it...We aren’t the MSM!!!!
I believe you are right... the government (leakers) doesn’t want to stop it. They act like they do, but I think they are searching for ammo.
Certainly, shooting the messenger misses the mark, but unfortunately, punishment is all the government can do effectively.
The real danger is governments keeping secrets from their citizens.
It wouldn’t be a simple matter. They investigate to verify the documents before they release them, they don’t just dump any old crap that gets sent their way all over the internet...
Everybody is hot to go after wikileaks but that won’t prevent the next leak through someone else. The leaks must be shut down at the source.
I don’t trust our government to stop with wikileaks either. Next thing you know it will be Drudge, WND, or even FR.
Send over a few Michael Jackson and Black Eyed Peas records and an Avatar screener - RIAA and MPAA will shut them down in 30 minutes.
True, but we don't want anarchists' power either.
True, but we don’t want anarchists’ power either.
Anarchy never exists. It’s always a question of who gets to make the laws. The anarchists just want a regime change.
It's the only thing that has knocked the GOP takeover of the House and public outrage over the last two years of overreaching dem legislation off the front pages. It's a win for the Obomunists. JMHO.
