Critics on Both Sides Be Damned: Run, Sarah
Pajamas Media ^ | November 26, 2010 | Pam Meister

Love her or hate her, Sarah Palin has, within the past couple of years, become an American institution. All the former Alaskan governor has to do is post something on Facebook or give a “shout-out” on Twitter and both pundits and everyday Americans on both sides of the aisle are either singing her praises or talking about what a dumb hick she is who has no business breathing, let alone commenting on the news of the day.

The big question, of course, is whether Palin should run for president in 2012. Here are just a few reasons why a Palin run makes sense:

She will never win more than 30% of the vote, but it would be good for democracy for all sorts of people to run...

I'll take some of that action. How much are you willing to lose?

If Rommey runs the only way he can win is have Sarah Palin as VP...

If Romney runs, and wins the nomination, I will seriously wonder whether the time for a new party has come.

That is so true! It's nothing against Sarah. It's just the fact of the matter. She's a breath of fresh air, but don't see her as POTUS. I think she'd be better used in another capacity. A lightening rod, yes, but not in that role...

I think she'll decide the role she will play. I hope we're past the point where we're deciding for women what their "better role" is.

And if she runs...she'll have a lot of support.

You’d undoubtedly be happy with that, but Palin as press sec? Not in a million years.

Sarah Palin is free to run if she wishes. I would encourage her to run if she truly wants to be POTUS. Running is not the same as winning. My question to all the Palin supporters is what are you going to do if she is not the GOP candidate for POTUS?

Depends upon who wins, and why. The Tea Party movement has reached a tipping point. and if we get some Romney like candidate who wins from crossover voting, I will be strongly inclined to support a third party candidate.

I will vote for a death row inmate over obama in 2012.

There is no way ANYONE can, with any certainty, predict what will happen if she decides to run. From everything we have seen so far from her, she is truly the Anti-Establishment candidate. She follows her own playbook which is written by her, piece by piece, day in, day out...

Exactly...I could write an article in agreement. She will rewrite the rulebook (no, let me correct that) she will continue rewriting the rulebook.

Sarah is by far my first choice - but tothink i will sit home in 2012, regardless of who is the nominee is unthinkable.

You might be right about RINOs supporting a GOP candidate no matter what, but I have to believe that RINOs like Merkowski will force a third party Ross Perot-like candidate into the mix.

The dispassionate, compromising rinos are not going to form a third party, especially against Governor Palin who gets about an 82% approval rating (the highest) among Republicans.

People forget that the Republican voters love Sarah Palin.

Here are some July numbers, her approval numbers are higher now, and her disapproval lower, but I only have this July graph.

That’s crazy talk. If Sarah runs she will win. If she doesn’t run, we must support whoever she endorses. Anyone is better than Obama.

Obviously, as she seems to have done all along. It's not a matter of deciding for "women" per se, but some positions seem better suited to certain personalities, and have nothing at all to do with gender.

“we must support whoever she endorses. Anyone is better than Obama.”

Disagree. The Stupid Party has been an opposition-in-name-only for far too long. In the absence of a real opposition to the Evil Party, they win.

If the Stupid Party will not step up and act as a real opposition, then they must go down. Even if that means that the Evil Party wins some elections while we are getting a real opposition together, it must be seen only as a strategic retreat, necessary for ultimate victory.

What about a real write-in campaign (if the ‘Cuda doesn’t run.) They have succeeded before, and recently.

I don’t see any signs that the RINO elite has gotten the message. Maybe a write-in candidate getting 30% of the vote would prompt their removal from power.

For the millionth time to anyone who cares, I think if Palin is the nominee, the RINOs will have a Ross Perot spoiler candidate, so she won’t even get 30% of a vote.

Your poll won’t mean anything when the RINOs prop up a different version of Ross Perot. Don’t think they won’t.

That is just goofy, the core of the establishment GOP, the blueblood rinos are not going to get fired up and form a third party.

***Logical fallacy: arguing from silence. In this case, the silence comes from the future, which cannot be known. You can post it a million times, and it will be a million times a logical fallacy. Take a critical thinking class.

“Logical fallacy”, “Future, which cannot be known” “Critical thinking”. Lol. You sound like a college freshman trying to impress people with the first bit of info learned outside the nest. Or, you are just a insufferable douche bag with no social skills who is so insecure that when someone disagrees with you, it becomes personal. Well, it is not personal, so when you grow up and mature and have a family, you will learn that life lesson. There are some things you cannot take a class for, Sparky.
