I don’t believe any of this at all. I’m convinced that Rahm left when he did because he told Obama not to make the election about Obama and Obama’s agenda, but to sit out the election and let each race play out purely in local fashion, based purely on mano y mano attacks. I think Rahm told Obama that to nationalize the elections would be a disaster. When Obama rejected Rahm’s advice, Rahm quit right away because he knew that Obama would fire him anyway for being proven right after November 2, because Obama’s ego would not allow Obama to tolerate the sight of Rahm because Rahm would have been proven right and Obama proven wrong.
The only truth in any of this at all is that White House insiders are using the convenient “dead” guy as a handy scapegoat and exacting revenge for his having been right all along. No doubt these losers consider this poetic justice.
