Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said Thursday she objected to a photo of Rep. Michelle Bachmann in the publication Politico by suggesting its use was sexist.
The photo, used to accompany a story about GOP leadership drama, showed Bachmann having make-up applied. The accompanying article detailed how Bachmanns run for Republican Conference Chair against Rep. Jeb Hensarling is a speed bump in an otherwise smooth transition process into the House majority for the GOP.
A photo of Rep Bachmann in a Leadership article [with] the title including a drama angle showing her being made up with cosmetics?! Palin said in an e-mail to The Daily Caller.
Would they do this to a male candidate? Kinda like the Newsweek cover of me in running shorts. Kinda like all these recent articles that mention what Im wearing or not wearing, yet not one mention of anyone elses garb in the same article. It gets old, its boringly transparent, its beyond subtle, Palin said.
Politico changed out the photo for another of Bachmann later in the morning. We agreed it wasnt the best choice of photos, so we changed it, said Politico executive editor Jim VandeHei.

Much ado about less than nothing.
I’d like to see a picture of Babs Boxer getting her makeup done. I need to throw up after the big meal I just had.
Prolbably use a mud pump.
Where’s the less than flattering pictures of Nancy Pelosi on the MSM?
I wonder what she was wearing when she wrote that.
Palin has a lot good to say, but this is trivial.
Apparently Politico agreed with Sarah. I like conservative female feminists. And I can tell you that if I had a daughter who accomplished something major, and a newspaper wanted to yammer about what she was wearing and show her applying her make-up, I would consider it misogynistic and entire inappropriate.

.... 14:54, 14:55, 14:56....
I assume if Rep. Bachmann didn’t want a picture taken of her having makeup put on she could have refused to allow photographers in the room.
WTF? I don’t see it as sexist. Remember those photos of John Edwards and his hair?
Were those sexist?
All women wear makeup.
Heck so does Shempherd Smiff.
NOT GUILTY!!!
ROFL, thats exactly what I was thinking.
I agree. There are far more important things to get jazzed up about. Sheesh, talk about straining gnats.
Women wear make up, I think most people understand this. What’s the big deal? Really.
It was a significant point of discussion on Tuesday night when Palin was on FNC with Geraldine Ferraro. The discussion centered around how female candidates, especially Republicans, are treated by the press. No, it's not Joy Behar by any stretch, but Palin is simply expanding a point well made on television on Tuesday night.
” I assume if Rep. Bachmann didnt want a picture taken of her having makeup put on she could have refused to allow photographers in the room.”
Why you......you, you
Pipe down, you conservative feminist- hating-misogynistic
