Thanks to Jeff Dunetz at Yid With Lid we have found out that a former ACORN worker turned director of the League of Women Voters has been heard justifying actions of the debate moderator who tried to prevent the audience at an 8th District candidate debate from reciting the Pledge of Allegiance last week.
As the debate began someone in the crowd yelled out asking if they were going to start the night's activities with the pledge. The moderator of the debate nixed the idea saying "no we are not." Then when the crowd expressed its shock and dismay she said "excuse me," and "it has never been part of " at which time she was interrupted by the entire crowd reciting the pledge anyway.
For days the controversy has raged since the October 20 debate where debate moderator Kathy Tate-Bradish tried to prevent the people from reciting the pledge. Then on Oct. 22, there was an outrageous story that Executive Director Jan Czarnik of the League of Women Voters was lambasting the pledge controversy as a stunt set up by GOP candidate Joe Walsh and an example of "phony patriotism."
So the LWV thinks reciting the Pledge of Allegiance is "phony patriotism," eh?
Disgusting....
In the audio that I heard, the moderator asks if there's a point of order being raised. That indicates to me that the guy in the audience was recognized by the moderator to ask his question rather than him just shouting it out.
We call them “The League of Women Vipers”.
I think you are being too touchy and obscuring the REAL problem here. While you want to worry about “asking” or “yelling” the REAL issue is that these leftists want to stop people from saying the pledge. But you go ahead and talk about a meaningless point and we’ll all talk about the real issue. Sheese.
What you and I see as the REAL issue isn't necessarily the same thing that others see as the REAL issue.
To the leftists, the REAL issue is that this man rudely disrupted the meeting by shouting out his question. You seem to want to obscure (or ignore) the fact that was clearly not the case. Leaving that impression out there unchallenged lets the leftists ignore the reason for his asking the question. Removing the phony "issue" of his method of asking lets people see the REAL issue -- the LOWV's not wanting to recite the pledge.
I was at the debate. I must say, that was the most beautiful thing I have seen in my life. That doesn’t say much since I’m only 26, but it was great. It has been aired on the Glenn Beck program, as well as, the Hannity Show.
