I heard that it takes a year to get rid of the TSA after they are fired. Something about contracts? I hope that’s not true.

I hear better in my right ear than my left ear. This is a good thing because they say a lot better things.
I don't know about TSA and contracts, but recently I've been trying to be a bit more friendlier than usual to them and I'd have to say at least 90% of them respond and light up just like normal folks. Most seem to be just doing a job, though I don't know what kind of "zero-tolerance" training they've been exposed to.
As far as scanners and the like, I haven't seen any in operation; it's all magnetometers as usual. Even in Atlanta yesterday, where all stations now have scanners.
I won't know more until week after next.
