I don't know how much you should care, but the fact that a government supported institution will terminate someones employment over his thoughts worries the heck out of me. CNN firing Rick Sanchez was a business decision. NPR firing Juan Williams IS censure ship.

the First Amendment is not there to protect agreement or to be part of a popularity contest.
It was included in the Constitution for the opposite reason: to protect the UNPOPULAR opinion from the tyranny of the majority. ( or in this case, Islam and the progressives)
