Well, I guess we should just give up then right? Screw that, we fight in every district and in every state. California shall return.

I demand a retraction. Unless you have been to Washington state, you have no idea what kinds of beauty is out there.

I must have visited the wrong beaches when I was there. I would take several of Florida’s beaches over what I saw in CA any day.

Meg is not very conservative, but she is the best that can be hoped for.

Here we go again. The same talking points were made about Arnold and look what happened.

Jerry Brown needs to win, and the state needs to have its hair-of-the-dog moment. I predict four things by 2015: Anarchy when leftists are faced with severe budget cuts, a Mexican takeover, a massive earthquake, or the state breaking up into several smaller states.

An editorial cartoon from around 1980 sticks in my mind: Brown is in a library trying to insert his autobiography in amongst Churchill, MacArthur, etc.

The title of Brown's was How I Whipped the Med Fly.

[For those not around, the Mediterranean Fruit Fly was destroying a good portion of Kali's agriculture in the late 1970s, almost as fast as Barbara Boxer & Co is now, causing other agricultural states to try to ban the import of Med Fly-laded California produce, making Brown run to the courts, etc.]

I usually get to CA once per year and it is funny, one of the places I visit is a liberal enclave - Santa Cruz. Very beautiful and interesting town ! But the liberal vibe is definitely noticed ! I also visit the UCSC campus. Very interesting place. They have some nice areas to go biking at though.

Heh, there is some truth in this. Let the voters get a Gov. who will give the Unions and the pension funds everything they want, and they can pay for it, too.

Not that I expect Whitman to be a stellar defender of fiscal responsibility, of course.

Indeed Kalifornia does indeed deserve Jerry for and second time around!

Any populace who repeatedly elects CommieCrates deserves the abyss, and Jerry is the merry bus driver who will drive them of the cliff with a simile on his completely ignorant face!

Good luck to all Kalifornia CommieCrate lovers, you are going to get what you ‘richly’ deserve (pardon the pun, please)

How long would already broke California last with Jerry Brown as Governor? Brown would raise taxes and impose draconian environmental restrictions causing businesses and tax paying citizens to flee. An open immigration policy would fill the state with immigrants who would cause a collapse of state welfare, medicaid and school systems. My bet is California under Brown would be completely bankrupt in less than two years and be begging for billions in federal bailouts.

This article gets to the heart of the matter. If Brown is elected, there is no way the fiscal crisis will be resolved. It will be escalated with Brown depending on Obama and his administration to bail the state out so it can continue on its irresponsible ways at the expense of taxpayers of other states. If the Republicans win at least the house, hopefully they can thwart any efforts to bail them out and force them to deal with their own situation. Brown is the anti Christie.

1950 Californians enjoyed a per-capita income that was 24% higher than the American average.
Then the mexicans showed up then the unions then it all weny to hell.

We are faced with Jerry Brown going for a 3rd term -- illegally -- in a state the limits governors, today, to no more than 2 terms. That should make him ineligible to run for governor. (Irrespective of how much nihilism one wishes.)
