Thanks for the tip. ‘Nobody’ is a kick ass tune. Not bad for a bunch of old dudes. Hope that tune is representative of the rest of it.

Not many people know that one of the Doobies, Jeff (Skunk) Baxter is
responsible for the Aegis Cruiser being part of our missile defense architecture
and he’s a consultant to the Pentagon on Missile Defense.
“
Strange, but true!!!
I heard him on a radio station in Los Angeles about 10 years ago
talking about his two careers.
And telling ONLY what he could tell about his second career!

I agree 100%, Stampede is also my favorite, "Neal's Fandango".So many good tunes on that album that should have been FM classics, "Sweet Maxine", "I Cheat the Hangman", and probably my all-time favorite acoustic guitar instrumental "Slat Key Soquel Rag."

Skunk, izzat you? LOL

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."

I love the Doobie Brothers, and have since circa 1972.
...On the other hand, who the hell cares about the Rock and Roll “Hall of Fame”?
The building and displays are cool, but “induction”? What a pathetic joke!
“Induction” is basically the gay(er), even more politically correct version of the “Nobel Peace Prize”. Wenner and the rest of the silly hot-tubbers who come up with these induction annointments from on high are at least as much a laughingstock as the Oslo crowd that handed a Nobel prize to Ubama. As they play with themselves in public they actuallt believe the world is laughing with them, not at them.
But hey, love the Doobies!

Chateau is the name of one of the songs on the new album. You can preview it at amazon.
Judging from the snip in the preview it is about just the Chateau of which you speak.
(I will be buying and downloading this album Tuesday. It does sound like it is going to be very very good)

I cannot recount my encounters with this band here. I will only say that it was a hoot.I can. I videotaped it. Who were those 5 women, those 3 guys, and is that a bong in the foreground?

Saw these poseurs in concert in 2008. First song, Rockin' Down the Highway. New bass player was running all around the stage, all Mr. Enthusiasm. Got to the chorus, he was 20 feet away from his microphone, but he supposedly had a vocal part to sing: "Ohhhhhh, rockin' down the highway." Made a beeline to his mic, but missed the entrance by about 3 or 4 seconds. Funny, the backup vocals never changed. They were in perfect tune, just like a studio recording. And therein lies the problem, folks. All the backup vocals were canned. Poseurs. So who's Milli, and who's Vanilli?

Not sure. I never met the guy, but we worked for the same gummint outfit back in the day.

I played in a Southern Rock cover band "The County Line Band" in the Jersey club circuit from 1977 thru 1984.
We did a Doobie Bros. set including, Neal's Fandango, Sweet Maxine, Rainy Day Crossroad Blues & Road Angel...As for 'Slat Key Soquel Rag", the other guitarist and I tried to put it together but couldn't get the picking down good enough to play it in front of 1000+ people on a consistent basis.

Thanks. Here's the only reference I can find to it.
Chateau-Tasty little rocker, much less stiff than the two attempts to rock out on Sibling Rivalry. The only trouble is the song never gets anywhere, especially lyrically. Killer groove, & I like it, but wheres the lyrical substance?"

I heard the story about the Doobies and their name. When they first formed, they imagined themselves as bad mo-fos, and they wanted a name that showed how “bad” they were, so, they named themselves after a colloquial name for a marijuana cigarette.
The rest, as they say, is history.

If you go to Amazon, and then search the down-loadable MP3 section with the term “doobie brothers world gone crazy” the album will show up, and you can listen to a sample of each song. It won’t let you buy any of it yet, though.
