Yep.
My M91/30 was made in 1942 at the Izhevsk arsenal.
It's been counter-bored which means it has gone through the arsenal refurb.

Pretty much like the one I picked up this week. 1942 Izzy, stamped matching, rough bore. Coulda used a counterbore on it!

I picked mine up about two years ago when Dunhams had a sale.
$79.99 = Rifle, bayonet, sling, dog collars, two ammo pouches, and the dual chamber lube/cleaner canister.
All the serial numbers match. The only thing that wasn't original with the rifle were the accessories. They are genuine but you could tell they had never been issued.

Got a '31 Tula, baby. I'll let the wife buy me the next one for Christmas. Peace on Earth, and all that.

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."

The rifle may have been unissued.
Tula and Izhmash made gabillions of them.

An excellent film.
and in the end, the political officer realizes that communism is a pipe dream, as he desires what another man has and cannot have it.

This one definitely saw some service somewhere.
The stock and forearm have minor nicks and dents in them. No cracks though.
Although it is not in bad shape, I bought it as a “shooter” rather than a “collector”. I put 60 to 80 rounds through it every time we go out to the range.

One of the best surplus rifles on the market.
I cannot find the link but someone has a bunch of pre 1896 chilean mausers rechambered to .308 for like $265 now.
They can ship them to your door as they are considered antiques.
I would hate to go up against that antique.
