Veteran election analyst Charlie Cook has backed away from his earlier prediction that control of the Senate was in play in this election. In light of Tuesdays Delaware Republican primary, Cook says the odds now overwhelmingly favor the Democrats retaining their Senate majority:

Wizards of smart. Scott Brown never could win against Coakley. Rubio couldn’t beat Crist. Rubio couldn’t win with Crist as an independent.
Yada Yada.
Sounds like O’Donnell could use some more money.
Why don’t we just put the selection of Senators completely under the control of Charlie Cook, whoever or whatever the hell he is?
Workbee: Odds of One Less Senate RINO 100% After Delaware
If she loses, EVERYONE on our side is going to point at Rove and his propaganda drones.
If she wins, everyone is going to remember that the some of you did your best to sabotage her.
They GOP Establishment mouthpieces face either ostracism from the Conservative movement as traitors or ostracism from the Conservative movement as irrelevant, non-credible cretins.
So either way the Roveites here are creating a lose-lose position for themselves
Odds of RINOs being able to backstab us and to crap on the Constitution just went down after Delaware.
I don't want the Senate.
We can starve all the socialist programs in the House and we wouldn't have a majority big enough to over-ride The One’s veto.
Things are going to be bad the next two years, and I'd rather have as little to do with it as possible.
We can't begin to fix things until we get that creep out of the White Hut.
Quote of the Day ;)
I dunno...considering that Feingold is down in the latest poll, Manchin (D) is falling in WV, and Fiorina is on Boxer’s heels, even without DE I think it’s possible.
Charlie Cook is a leftist, as his writing shows.
BS.

No chance?
And..?
The GOP always had a longshot chance of winning back the Senate that is what happens when there is a 59-40 ratio, to think any party is just going to waltz into November and win 20 seats, and defeat 7 entrenched incumbents was always a long shot.
I’d much rather have a intense base for 2012 than to win nominal control of the Senate with the House and Executive Branch in Dhimmi hands.
Secondly he shows his ignorance in that there is an intense anti Democrat and incumbent feeling flaming America. Forget your old polls, there is a mega change undergoing America. The Castles and Coons of the establishment are being throw out by the people. Charlie, you're next.
If “Tokyo Rove” would have fought one tenth as hard for Norm Coleman’s stolen seat as he is bashing Christine, he and his band of RINO good ol’ boys wouldn’t have to be such crybabies about the recent Delaware results.
For a moment let’s pretend he’s right.
If the margin is that thin then we are looking at a 50-50 or 51-49 kind of Senate. If that is the case Castle would have been selling us out every chance he got. Cap and Trade, judge confirmation, Healthcare repeal...these are all positions Castle would sell us out on. I’m sure he’d find a way to vote for the DREAM Act and every other “comprehensive immigration” Act that came his way too.
I’d rather take my chances with a Conservative.
im fine with 49, which can filibuster. No doubt, you’ll see the dem ignore the 40 filibust rule and overreach and just vote to pass anything they want, which open the way for us to do the same come 2012 when we take the majority
Charlie in this election year the odds are very much against Democrats and the establishment. Anyone who raises more than 1 million $ in two days can win.
Lets give it a shot, shall we?
