Over at the Weekly Standard, Jay Cost has written this post today:
His post was then linked to at Hotair over here:

I figure the McCain team at NRO or the Pawlenty team at Powerline will jump in at some point. Anyway, Cost argues that if we want to repeal Obamacare, we need Castle since he's a co-sponsor in the House of a bill to do just that.
Well, I looked more closely at Castle's co-sponsorship of the Obamacare repeal effort. It seems he signed on July 30th of this year. Now, let me guess. Did he do it because, well, his opponent, Christine O'Donnell, had been hammering him relentlessly for his refusal to definitively state that he would support repeal? That would certainly cause some of us to question his reliability, as he is generally an unreliable conservative Republican. But there's more reason to question him. For example, what are we to make of this video?
http://www.wikio.com/video/rep-mike-castle-healthcare-repeal-4033740
Here Castle says subsequent to signing up as a co-sponsor that, in essence, "he'd consider" repeal if we had a different president. So, why would he sign on as a co-sponsor for repeal but then say he'd consider repeal if we had a different president? I suppose his defenders would claim that he also said there might be other ways to address Obamacare short of repeal. Well, I'm all for that too. But that does not explain the contradiction -- he signed up for repeal, and without any caveats.
Now he has caveats. Notice, too, that neither the Weekly Standard nor Hotair linked to this video in their latest posts on Castle, which would have raised the very problem I raise here. What the Weekly Standard and Hotair should have done, IMHO, is expose Castle's duplicity. Now, unfortunately, the duplicity appears to be spreading.
The total repeal of 0bamaCare is essential to the survival of our economy and health care. It will destroy them both.
The guy is a conniving Marxist enabler.
Are we going to have some other president in the next congress besides Obama?
The best measure of his position on Obamacare is how he voted for it in the house. He vote NO.
How is he going to vote for cap and trade?
The ‘Old Goat’ Castle is senile!
Friday, I got a letter from Castle (using his franking privilege) saying that he signed on as a co-sponsor of Wally Herger’s bill to repeal health care law - “Common Sense Health Care Reform and Affordability Act (H.R. 4038)”
Well, not quite...
Seems he is a bit confused - he actually signed on as co-sponsor of Herger’s H.R. 5424 - “Reform Americans Can Afford Act of 2010”
Putting aside his using our tax dollars to send out campaign motivated correspondence, this is the same guy who claims he reads the bills - including when 300+ pages are released only 2 hours before voting. I have zero confidence in his statements, and his competence.
Whatever the reasons (senility, strokes, etc.) it is time to retire Mike Castle!
I think the logical solution (as Christine O’Donnell suggests) is to defund immediately and repeal when possible. That IS possible (with a Republican controlled house in January) whereas overriding a Presidential veto is not.
FIRE 2 term incumbent US 9th District Rep.STEVE COHEN obama butt kisser! and ELECT CONSERVATIVE CHARLOTTE BERGMANN
http://www.charlottebergmann.com/ in his place.
>>>How is he going to vote for cap and trade?<<<
He voted FOR it in the House, and remains a strong supporter of it.
He gave his reason for supporting it in his press release...
CAP (Center for American Progress) says it is good for us...
Remember CAP? Yep, George Soros funded, John Podesta run, with their ‘Expert’ Van Jones on economic/green/energy items. Remember Van? The self avowed Socialist/Communist that stirred up all the commotion when 0bama tried to get him on his WH team - well, he went back to CAP after Senate went ballistic... Hmmmmm, another Castle foible - or does it give us a bit of insight on Castle?
When I questioned his staff about this, they said “Who should he listen to?” I suggested Heritage Foundations evaluation or Pew... I was told “You can’t believe THEM - They are CONSERVATIVE!” Tells me all I need to know!
Levin is brilliant as always.
Castle needs TO stock up.
Yes, I believe he will vote for cap and trade, I was asking someone who was defending his votes on Obamacare etc.
>>>I was asking someone who was defending his votes on Obamacare etc.<<<
Not much to defend - he waited til Steny Hoyer had his votes for passage, when he wasn’t needed for passage, he took the safe no vote. For 10 months Castle kept saying that it was a waste of time to try to overrule it - now that his toes got burned, he is falling all over himself to support repeal.
And he can’t even get that straight.
