Blaming dead people for the way you live today is a pretty weak excuse. Lincoln was able to jerk the South into the 19th century, but you can't fairly blame him for the way you are living in the 21st century.

I don't blame him for "the way I live". I blame him for.. the laws I live under. The Government morphed into the beast that the Founders warned us about. Yet, the man that led this charge [By means of the Bayonet and torch ] is given Saint status.

Good. Whether or not you realize it, you have created for yourself a new affirmation. Everytime you start feeling like a slave, you just scream:

"I don't blame Lincoln for the way I live. I can't blame Lincoln for the way I live. I will NEVER blame Lincoln for the way I live."

You try that and then get back to me in a few weeks with a report on your progress. And don't let anybody put you down or make you feel like a slave again.
