In the wake of a dispute between WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah and conservative author Ann Coulter over her decision to headline an event sponsored by GOProud, a gay conservative organization, Farah and GOProud Chairman Christopher Barron will square off in a debate later this month at WND’s convention.
Barron told The Daily Caller that Farah challenged him to debate over whether GOProud can be considered “conservative” after Farah argued on his site that there is no place within conservatism for an organization like GOProud, a group that promotes itself as “the only national organization representing gay conservatives and their allies.” TheDC is waiting for confirmation from WND about the debate’s details.
Farah dropped Coulter from a speaking engagement at WND’s annual “Taking America Back” convention in Miami for agreeing to speak at GOProud’s “Homocon” party in New York. (Coulter later said that Farah had never actually booked her for a speech, calling him a “swine” and a “publicity whore.”)
Farah contends that groups like GOProud are trying to commit a “coup” to unroot the conservative movement with an “agenda…to take the homosexual agenda inside the conservative tent.”
Barron insists that his group is genuinely conservative and said he looks forward taking on Farah in front of a WND crowd.
Since we announced that conservative author and columnist Ann Coulter would be headlining our Homocon 2010 in New York City, Farah has attacked GOProud, attacked Ann, and challenged our work almost every single day, Barron said in a statement to The Daily Caller. I look forward to standing on the stage with Mr. Farah to defend GOProud, to debunk the misinformation he has spread, and to make the case for GOProuds conservative mission.
Barron added that conservatism stands at a major crossroads in its acceptance of gays into the movement. A number of high profile conservatives, including Lisa De Pasquale of the Conservative Political Action Conference, Grover Norquist of Americans for Tax Reform and former General Counsel to the National Republican Senatorial Committee Craig Engle, have signed on as official sponsors of GOProud’s event.
The debate will be held on September 17 at 7:30 PM at the Doral Golf and Spa Resort in Miami, Florida.

Yes it does. And they can be as slippery as serpents.
Excellent post.
What needs to be very sad is that freepers seperation from his reason so as to think that his traumatized condition is somehow normal or the way God made him! What a mental excuse given by the darkness. All excuses are coming from the matrix of hell, not ourselves!
Not too slippery to avoid a “report abuse” scrutiny.
I hear you.
These threads are usually monitored. Some of the hatred directed at Christians is stunning.
The hatred directed at Christians is largely coming from the trolls infesting this site, because they know they are on their last leg.
It certainly is more virulent than I’ve seen before.
“Stunning” is correct. It’s unbelievable.
And no, Christianity does not equal conservatism. There are Christians all over the globe. Greek. Russian. Italian. They are not American conservatives.
Many conservatives are not Christian. They are Jewish. Some are atheists.
Many Christians are not conservatives. I've mentioned the thousands of African-American churches that are uniformly Democrat supporters, but you avoid dealing with that.
But the fact is, you have not been able to find anything I have said that indicates that I am any more "pro homosexual" than you are. As a matter of fact, I also think the gay lifestyle is detrimental to their health. I also am against gay marriage. I also don't want it taught in schools.
The only difference between you and me is that I think we should still reach out to them and convince them to vote with us. You don't, because your Christian beliefs are more important to you than winning their votes. That is why you put Christianity AHEAD OF this country. That is why you are just another member of the identity-politics brigade. You march closer to us real conservatives than the gays and muslims do, because there are some... SOME cultural norms that Christians and conservatives have in common.
But they are not synonymous, and that is simply that. And you can't deny it. You just keep trying to prove I've been mean to you. Poor baby.
Yes, but nothing a leftist says surprises me anymore. The masks are fully off now.
The basic religious principles of morality are the very foundation of our government and indeed any civilized society. To deny this is to lie about history and deny obvious truth.
I am not referring to any sect, denomination or any particular religion, as all religions have the same basic moral principles. (Leaving aside Islam, it’s in a class by itself).
You are stating opinions as though there were fact, but are nothing but basless assertions to condemn religion, especially Christianity, and to promote the homosexual agenda.
BTW - little boys acting effeminate and little girls acting masculine is not evidence that they are born homosexual. Many girls are tomboys and many boys have non-traditionally male interests. The insidious influence of homosexual agenda indoctrination in schools, media and entertainment has been going on for thirty years and is accelerating. Deluded and psychologically ill parents sometimes foster and encourage similar illness in their children; there have been articles on FR that I have pinged out about this. For instance, parents purposely dressing their male children in dresses, etc. Or counselors and teachers telling students that they are “gay” and cannot change.
If people were born homosexual, there would be no former homosexuals. None. Nor would there be people who were married with children who later in late “decide” that they are now “gay”.
There is not one scientific study that has found a “gay” gene or “gay” brain.
And about religion being more important than country?
To you, hatred of religion is more important than truth.
That is a lie.
Prove it.
Hint: You cannot.
Great post.
There have also been articles with this virulent hatred of Christianity and the moral principles founded in religion. Virulent, shockingly unveiled, no holds barred. Not even making a slight pretense to be rational.
As for proving that Christians are more interested in fighting homosexuality than in this country, this whole thread is proof. Everyone condemning Ann Coulter for even ADDRESSING gays, even TALKING TO THEM about conservative values... is walking, talking, posting proof. Just read back over this thread.
I can't even get any one of you to address my point that we could win their votes.
Here's an idea. You tell me: how do we go about winning gay votes for things like drilling ANWR, cutting spending, lowering taxes, and curbing immigration WITHOUT compromising on gay marriage? Because that's MY priority. What do you think about that as a priority? Go ahead and tell me.
They aren't. Only a twisted adult could label a child before they are fully developed.
How does molesting a kid make him want to bake cakes and throw parties? You tell me.
How does baking cakes and throwing parties have anything to do with homosexual sex? Stereotype much?
And no, Christianity does not equal conservatism. There are Christians all over the globe. Greek. Russian. Italian. They are not American conservatives.
More qualifying statements in order to cover your tracks.
Many Christians are not conservatives.
You hate all of them. What makes you an expert on Christians? Your hatred? Look to yourself first. It isn't a Christian telling stories on a public board about their students and trying to pigeonhole their sexual preferences before they're even old enough for sex.
But the fact is, you have not been able to find anything I have said that indicates that I am any more "pro homosexual" than you are.
Other than you trying to state the born gay canard I never said you were for homosexual rights. I have consistently pointed to your deep hatred of Christians.
The only difference between you and me is that I think we should still reach out to them and convince them to vote with us.
Quote where I stated that we shouldn't. That was an accusation that YOU made. I simply said their sexual preferences come first, before politics.
because your Christian beliefs are more important to you than winning their votes. That is why you put Christianity AHEAD OF this country.
God and country is the old saying. Note which comes first. If you follow God, doing the right thing comes naturally. Your beef is with God, not me.
You march closer to us real conservatives than the gays and muslims do, because there are some... SOME cultural norms that Christians and conservatives have in common.
That is why you are just another member of the identity-politics brigade.
Does that include JimRob? And again, that's an accusation you made. I STILL have NEVER mentioned the Bible. YOU have.
But they are not synonymous, and that is simply that. And you can't deny it. You just keep trying to prove I've been mean to you. Poor baby.
Step carefully "lady".

Just answer that and we'll be done.
The problem is these nuts want to cut out social issues and make the “cloth” of conservatism look like swiss cheese. That’s how conservatives lose elections.
Exactly. That's what I've been saying. That's my whole point. Thank you for finally admitting it.
For me, country comes first. That's why you're a Christian and I'm a conservative.
