They’re social climbers, using their education to break into society. The minute they get in they disown any real knowledge of the world and pretend their past doesn’t exist. Instead of being proud of their hard working past, they shun it, almost pathologically. Their education isn’t a ticket to a better lifestyle in regards to making a living, but getting a ‘position’ in society.
