I would be perfectly happy for them to call this a political rally of religious people but let’s not call it Christian or minimize these differences in theology. I could not pray with Glenn Beck, as a Christian.
I agree...the Jesus of the Mormons is not the Jesus who existed always with the Father and said “Before Moses was, I Am,” who is The Word (In the beginning was the Word...and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.”)
The Mormon’s Jesus was a mortal man, born along with his brother, Lucifer, to a man who then became god. And Mormons believe that they, too, will become gods, just as Jehovah was once a man, (in their belief system) who then became a god.
The two belief systems are antithetical to each other...completely incompatible.
I could never join in prayer with a Mormon as we believe in two separate and distinctly unequal Gods, it would be like praying with an Muslim to Allah, or with a Hindu to Vishnu or Krishna.
I still love what Glenn Beck does and I wish him and his rally the best of success...but only in a political sense, his “Christianity” is not the Biblical Christianity I believe in.
