Is this some kind of Socialist website? I am afraid to click on the link and get whatever illness they have.
“after all, if everyone can jump 10 feet in the air, rather than about 3 feet, then people wouldn’t be surprised at all - 10 feet would seem like it was ‘normal”
And if everyone was stupid like this writer, THAT would seen normal too.
I think you need to read this now:

This is some pretty crude satire.

Another great feature of the Volt (and Leaf) is the fact that it’s difficult to hoard electricity.
That means that if we all decide to march on Washington it will be just that, a march, if Washington cuts electricity to the dissident counties or states. Nobody from 40 miles away will be able to drive there in their mandatory electric cars.
Oh some Gadsden-flag-flyers will have a half dozen jerry cans and a Honda generator, who know how to hack he Volt charger system, but these will be a small easily handled number that make a racket when they charge up.
From a people-control viewpoint the Volt is a winner!
You joke, but if they can force healthy young people to buy overpriced, old-folks’-care-subsidizing health insurance ... then why NOT force people to buy a particular car?
THE NEW TRABANT
Deus Volt!
There was once upon a time a car called the Chevy Sprint, 3 cylinder car, got great gas millage, 8 gal tank. BUT you could only use High Test gas or it fouled the carburetor, it was even picky about the brand used, no cutrates only name brand. Yes, I’m sure of that fact after having to have the carb cleaned twice. 4 passenger. Great little get around car, beat you to death on a long distance drive. We could go 350 miles and still have a 1/4th of a tank left.

As a taxpayer, I've already paid for it, I'm waiting on delivery.
People in the Northeastern United States would be damn fools to buy an electric car without knowing how they’ll operate in the frigid winters we have here.
Cold weather has a very negative effect on car batteries,Not to forget snow and ice on the ground that tend to make driving much more difficult.
I'll use the money to buy my own 'lectricmobile, chop the top off and use it to run fence
I'd have to paint it camo so I could hunt out of it too...the electric motor is less likely to startle game.
Wait...that won't work...everybody around here has a big 4x4 and equipment trailers...too much competition...dang it, I was going to get rich but fate has intervened once again.

Actually the federal government could force everyone to buy a Chevy Volt.
If they can force us to buy insurance, they can force us to buy another commodity. Whether you can drive or not. They could force blind people to buy a chevy volt. It’s for their own good because it helps the US economy, keeps people employed and off unemployment.
I took my 2007 dodge in for an NC state emissions inspection yesterday and the dealership would not allow it to pass because on new cars the federal government is requiring what is called a "readiness code". I'm not sure of the details of what this code provides the inspector (chime in if you can explain) but the inspector told me, ...get this, that I have to go out and drive 50 - 100 miles and bring the car back in once the code has (hopefully) reset to pass inspection. Talk about ridiculous! The liberals have really screweed this country up. I'm seriously thinking about expatriotizing if we don't make some major changes (that I can believe in) in the next two years.
