The first store I hit on my coupon run yesterday, I ran into "Mr. Coupons," the guy who taught me a lot of couponing tricks months ago. At the time I played really dumb so he told me way more than he should have. And now he regrets he shot off his mouth because I have been cleaning out the store shelves before he usually has a chance to so when he ran into me, he was much less than happy. It sort of reminded me of a scene out of "Jumpers" when two Jumpers ran into each other. Tomorrow and the next day I continue my coupon runs. Hopefully will score a few hundred BO sticks. Fortunately for me, Mr. Coupons hasn't yet figured out how to obtain big numbers of coupons whereas I have an almost unlimited supply. Anyway, yesterday's encounter was a very primal "my stash is bigger than your stash" moment.

p.s. Am I taking this couponing thing a bit too seriously?

p.p.s. Maybe not since this laptop computer I am posting this with was obtained FREE via coupons. Also I am now working on the "Manhattan Project" of all couponing...how to use coupons to score free play money at the casinos.

Why is everyone for social services until THEY have to pay them? If you are for them but go running when the bill comes, call yourself a right winger.

How did you miss that gem? For those new to the game, if you think social services are the government's job then you can never call yourself a right winger. If the people insist that the government must get into providing social services then we ask is it too much trouble for those programs work and have some accountability. That's where we really get insensitive.

Kerry would be liable for Massachusetts taxes if he berthed the boat in the Bay State. . . .

Reporting for duties!

People living in WA state do this all the time. They buy car in Oregon which has no sales tax, and register in Oregon, but use it in WA state where they live. Just drive through any high density housing and you will see many cars with OR license plates.

South Carolina used to have a similar problem with Georgia registrations. We rarely see Georgia plates as much as we used to. I was out of the country at the time so I have no idea what SC did to stop it.

My question for the DUmmie. How many of these people with Oregon plates are politicians representing Washington state? If they were they wouldn't be in office for long.

Dummie almost had a moment of understanding, but he didn't pursue this to its logical conclusion.

I don’t suppose you’d consider sharing these couponing secrets with your fellow FReepers, eh?

If the Isabel were kept at the 2008 Democratic presidential nominee's summer vacation home on Nantucket or in Boston Harbor near his city residence, he would be liable for $437,500 in one-time sales tax. He would also have to pay $70,000 in annual excise taxes.

Rhode Island repealed those taxes in 1993. That has made the state something of a nautical tax haven.

Rhode Island. The Berth of a Nation.

Lots of heads exploding in this one.

Why is everyone for social services until THEY have to pay them?

And somewhere a tiny little light bulb goes on in a sea of darkness.
