One of the problems with this crook is that he is chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee and has done everything in his power to defund immigration law enforcement programs while traipsing all over the world on the taxpayer’s dime, in particular to tropical beach locations (lots of threats to our national security there.) Some of those trips were paid for by Jack Abramoff, but Thompson never suffered any consequences. That this man exercises any power whatsoever, and that he has access to sensitive national security information, is a disgrace and a danger. Also: he is in office only because they gerrymandered him an all-black district that is 300 miles long and half as wide.

We need to send Cousin Travis back to Booneville here in north to cancel Bennie out.
Speaking of Bennie, I wonder if anybody on the Mississippi ping list is in touch with staff members at the Veterans’ Hospital in Jackson?
I recently talked to somebody who works there and was told that doctors and other staff are leaving in droves, due to a terribly incompetent hospital chief. It seems that under direction of this person, the hospital is really being run into the ground.
And wouldn’t you know it, this incompetent Administrator is a friend and political crony of old Bennie himself. Bennie got her the job, and Bennie will protect her come hell or high water.
I live in Bennie’s district. The feds had draw those lines about 3 times to get what they wanted. Finally after taking in most of west Jackson they made it. On the map it looks like a 9 months and 15 minutes pregnant woman.

I guess the African Americans in his district are too uneducated to realize that they are being sold out. Someone should fix this.

Mike Espy was the rep before Bennie. He was at least
to some degree fair.
When Bennie was first elected a group of business people from Yazoo City requested a visit with him. He replied “unless you bring some black folks with you don’t bother to show up” Since then it has been all down hill.
One problem is the number of white voters with the mentality of their post Civil War Mississippi Ancestors. They refuse to vote for any Republican, still considered the party of Lincoln. These are educated people.
This is pure grievance politics. It is unseemly and, if not ugly, but it can work. I've done it one on one with Blacks, American Hispanics, Puerto Ricans, and Jews.
PS. In the long run, we have to taget Puerto Ricans and Cubans who have no class interests with Mexicans.
We politely refer to them as “yellow dog” democrats. Thankfully they are a dying breed.
I am not trying to be ugly by this question but have you ever spent any time in the Mississippi Delta?
