Sorry but even though Stalin was a POS, he was instrumental in helping to defeat Hitler. To pretend that he and the Russians were not an important part of the war against Germany is just as bad as any other type of revisionist history.
It’s like the people that want to ban the Confederate Flag. Don’t hide from history unless you REALLY want to repeat it.

I never thought I’d see Stalin apologists on FR. I have family members who were murdered by Stalin. He made Hitler look like an amateur by comparison. For someone to come on here and praise him under false pretenses, I’m sickened.
If you’re going to have statues of mass murdering tyrants up and have no problem with Stalin’s, then put Hitler’s up too.
By the way, turning over approximately half of Europe to be maimed, tortured, and murdered by Communists for another 50 years was part of his legacy. It is debatable who actually “won” WWII.
Leave the statue. Decapitate the head. Point made.
I have been to the D-Day Memorial and it is a truly awesome place to be. I agree with you and the others after reading the posts about the atrocities of Stalin. He has no place there at the Memorial.
