Did you read my post? The answer is right there.

So you consider yourself a "link whore" or "blog pimp".

The link is fine. Any one who wants to see more of your writing then has a easy way.

But why force the readership of FR to go to blog unless your intent is to divert traffic?

Two reasons I can think of. One: he has a right to his Copyright just like any other writer.

Two: Free Republic doesn't allow certain types of content to be shown mostly video. So to see this content one must leave FR or NOT see it at all.

Oh and I don't think he has forced anyone to go anywhere to read his blog. One can choose not to click the link. You are free not to read it.

I really don't understand this suggestion that I am "diverting traffic." What is that all about? When I go to FR and see something that I want to read in full, I click on the link that opens another tab (I use Windows XP and Internet Explorer), look at it and am back to FR with the click of a mouse. I can have FR, Malkin, Drudge, Instapundit, ACE, IAMO, Etc. up all at once. How in the world do you divert traffic in the internet today? Put up a bunch of orange cones with a sign saying “do not enter?”

I honestly do not understand your point.

Regards.
