We’ve three dogs, ranging from 100+lbs down to 50 lbs. All very good watch dogs and they have run of the house.

The fiancé and I have a corner picked out. She heads there while I grab the firearms.

If they find us, bad for them. A couple of 45’s at less than 10’ will probably be enough to put them down. Permanently.

“All very good watch dogs and they have run of the house.”

To each his/her own, but big dogs belong in the yard, not in the house. If they are in the house primarily for security purposes (bad neighborhood, insufficient space, apartment, etc.) then that is a different story.

Over the last 20+ years, we always have a pair of dobermans in the house. We’re on our 4th and 5th right now. All have been 100 pounds or better. Best danged alarms there are and we don’t get any unwanted visitors either. Anyone casing our farm would see the dogs out with us.

I see you have 3 dogs at a time. We’ve recently been considering adding a third, but wonder if that makes it a bit too much for a ranch sized house. We haven’t taken the leap to dog number 3, but we’re seriously considering it.

Since all my firearms fell out of my boat recently, all I have left is the doggies for protection.

: )
