TheCypressTimes.com ^ | 06/06/2010 | Gary P.

Sixty-six years ago, today June 6, 1944, the Allies stormed the beach at Normandy to free Europe from Axis control. Today, Gov. Palin wrote about the Anniversary in a brief Facebook Note, including an excerpt of speech from President Reagan who spoke at the 40th anniversary of D-Day.

Today, on the 66th Anniversary of D-Day, let’s remember the courage and sacrifice of our Greatest Generation whose actions helped liberate a continent. I’d like to share with you excerpts from President Reagan’s beautiful speech on the 40th Anniversary of D-Day honoring the Rangers who took the cliffs at Pointe du Hoc

I have been looking online and Gov Palin is the only national politician I have seen that has noticed that June 6th was D-day. Everyone else including our president acted like it never happened. Of course there might have been others and I might have missed it but I don’t think anyone Mitt, Obama Tpaw even acknowledged the day.

To 2 - As a Blackberry user I humbly thank you. It would be nice if these people ceased with excerpting when it isn't required.

Though I believe they are more akin to whores than pimps.

I have no problem with excepts as long as the except correct summarizes the article

Some of us who have been here more than a few weeks do have a problem with it.

Only blogpimps excerpt their own crap. Nothing should be excerpted unless dictated by FR management because many of us will not click on an unknown blog. If they were really interested in FR and not their own pitiful ego and really wanted their words read they would post in full with appropriate links to their “borrowed” sources.

Blogpimps suck.

Sarah Palin is using Facebook like a WMD on The Chosen One’s administration. Her use of it to get her message out will be talked about for a long time. Too bad no one else has figured that out yet. Maybe they will by 2012.

I understand however it does not change the economics of the web. blogs live and die by clicks and ads. If you enjoy the blog/article then click to the site to give them your support. If you have good anti-virus software, antimalware it causes no problems.

So you don’t have a problem with blogpimps using FR for free to make a profit for themselves?

How conservative is that? Being new I guess FR doesn’t mean as much to you as it does to me.

well that is one way to look at it. and I see your point. However if there were no blogs postings here FR would be less of the go to site. It is a symbiotic relationship. each site FR and the blogs get something form the deal. The blogs get traffic and FR gets more members and becomes the location for conservative to go to to start their day.

as far as being “new” I have been a member of FR for years. My original handle was unseen. Lost the password and changed email so couldn't recover it. I just didn't post much mostly just skimmed the topics of the day.

The real news sources have something to offer. Bloggers who excerpt for hits are garbage and offer nothing.

As to not being new, sign up date is the yardstick.

I guess we will just have to agree to disagree then I have found some blogs to offer a unique take on the newscycle.
