This is just something I worked up from a photograph I took on Memorial Day a few years back at Arlington. The link goes to a full-size version that can be used as a wallpaper for 1680x1050 desktops (or smaller, of course). If anybody would like to use it elsewhere, please give me credit somehow or somewhere.
Comments are welcome too. It's just a hobby (both photography and photomanipulation) but I do like to improve.

Great job; please feel free to add this one (hopefully it's big and sharp) to your collection (I got it from another website):

Looks nice. I wonder if it was taken during the day and the lighting adjusted or at night when the flag is lit? I’d guess probably at night, but who knows.

Excellent! Will be on my Facebook page tomorrow with full credits.
I’m a tv producer and the only thing I could suggest is trying to use a small light kicker to pop the flag. As per Photoshop, maybe crank chroma on the flag with a contast adjust.
However, I have nowhere near the photo talent you have, so great work!!

Thanks for the kind words. Your suggestion is exactly what I've been trying to focus on - finding the right balance for the flag's brightness. It was an overcast day for the most part when I took the picture. The sky was blue, but a very dull blue. Still, with the flag in the foreground, I couldn't get any real brightness on the flag without overexposing the rest of the image. The flag has long been the sticking point - if I make it too bright, the colors separate too much on the flag. In any case, here's a different version that's identical except for a brighter flag. Look any better?

Much better than the stupid FB page I just found about Honoring the Warrior but not the War.

From what I understand, it’s a photo of the flag on the rebuilt section of the Pentagon, shortly before dedication. A Marine friend, who was at the Pentagon when the plane was driven into the building, linked me to the website with the photo. I think you’re right as far as the time of day.
