Turkey is joining the Eurovision 2010 contest with an interesting song. That is mildly said. I find it creepy, but I live in America so I am not voting in the Euro contest. “We could be the same” is the title. The official Eurovision website suggests:
About the lyrics, the band has stated that they expected the listeners to find out what the song means. However, they revealed that the message of the song is the quest for a peaceful world where people live with love and faith.So let’s find out!
Here is a snippet from the lyrics:
I can love you more than they hate. Doesn’t matter who they will blame. We can beat them at their own game.Who are THEY is not clear from the lyrics and the band would not say.
The character in the song feels the world is a stage. So did Shakespeare. Despite the fact that Turkey has a great poetic tradition of their own the songwriter thinks the future lover will appreciate The British poet. May be the song is about Romeo and Juliet. Although the video reminds me of a rock-party of the Al-Qaida international youth organization – I am 100% sure it is not it.

this is creepy. Eurovision is a giant contest - it goes for months. This song will be promoted on every European national TV. It is beyond creepy!
