A genuine and verified long form birth certificate could be used as indisputable evidence as to his status as a natural born citizen if it names two U.S. citizen parents registering a birth on U.S. territory. Beyond that, however, the birth certificate is largely irrelevant to the discussion. However, should Mr. Obama provide such a genuine and verified document, gold plated or not, I am confident Lt.Col. Lakin -- based upon his service record -- would indeed satisfy his orders as they were received. I can make this assumption due to Lt.Col. Lakin's 18 years of honorable service and the fact that this would be his second tour in Afghanistan. Furthermore, he has publicly stated his willingness to deploy upon confirmation the orders were lawfully given. His willingness to obey orders if only...is irrelevant. He has already missed movement and refused to obey the lawful order of his brigade commander. He is certainly guilty of both charges and there are no do-overs. Even if he was able to bring Obama's status into the court martial, and he won't, it will have no bearing on his offenses and the ultimate outcome of the trial.
