Yes I think Sarah has put a foot down wrong here just as she did in Arizona. What is the excuse here? Carly Fiorina is the front runner? She is a fellow female? Or is it simply a matter of a personal relationship having overridden conservative judgment?
I doubt that Sarah will be a kingmaker if he continues down this path and it's even possible that she won't be a queen maker in California.

Heres the deal, extensive polling shows that DeVore had peaked, and was backing up, losing ground, while liberal Republican Tom Campbell was barely edging out Carly for the nomination. Sarah looked at this and knew she had to shake things up. Palin and the rest of the California right is desperate to stop Tom Campbell, with weeks to go, Carly has the money and the numbers to stand a good chance of doing that.
Palin can actually help some in the Carly vs Campbell battle, but nothing could be done to make Devore suddenly make up a consistent 20 point deficit to knock out Campbell, but Carly has the money and position to close a 4 to 7 point gap with Palin's help, especially if Devore drops out in a week or two.

She’s a pragmatist who knows the Republicans (and onservatives) are far better off getting a half-conservative vote from CA than a 100% loony leftist vote from the state. Fiorina is a better option than Campbell, though far from perfect. And DeVore hasn’t got a realistic chance.
