(Just a wee side note from my past bitter experience: The “All” in that address box on the thread doesn’t send anything anywhere-—unless you’ve got all the addresses saved someplace else and can recall ‘em with that.)

Incident: Air France B744 over Atlantic on Jul 10th 2010, bomb hoax

An Air France Boeing 747-400, registration F-GITH performing flight AF-443 from Rio de Janeiro Galeao,RJ (Brazil) to Paris Charles de Gaulle (France) with 405 passengers and 18 crew, was enroute over the Atlantic about 3 hours into the flight, when the crew was radioed about the bomb threat and decided to divert to Recife,PE (Brazil), where the airplane landed safely about 3:45 hours after departure from Rio.

The airport of Recife was closed for about 40 minutes to prepapre for the arrival and search of the aircraft. A search of the aircraft and luggage found no traces of explosives.

Air France estimated the flight to depart Recife at 01:30L (current time 03:10L), the airplane however is still on the ground.

Air France said that a woman had called Rio de Janeiro’s Galeao Antonio Carlos Jobim International Airport warning of a bomb on board about 2.5 hours after the airplane departed from Rio. The crew was radioed and diverted to Recife.

Recife Airport said, that the airplane and luggage was searched but no bomb was found. The airplane had been released to continue the flight.
