Copenhagen: Blast in hotel, police suspect terrorism
(photo)
The suspect is described as ‘North-African-looking’ and speaks French. In court he claimed he could not remember his name, though according to Danish newspaper Ekstrabladet’s sources, he comes from Luxembourg.
The man is being placed in isolation, which probably means the police suspect he has accomplices. According to the charges, the man intended to set off the bomb elsewhere, and it went off at the hotel by accident. (DA, DA)
Via AP:
Danish officials said this week’s small explosion at a Copenhagen hotel could be terror related, as the French-speaking suspect proclaimed his innocence in court Saturday while being ordered held in custody.
The blast on Friday a day before the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks on the United States caused only minor damage to a hotel bathroom and prompted Danish authorities to “slightly” raise the country’s terror alert. But officials insisted Danes should not be afraid of an imminent attack.
No one was hurt except for the suspect, who was slightly wounded.

Moscow: 55,000 gather for Eid ul-Fitr celebration
(more pictures and videos at EnglishRussia, Bivouac-ID and RT)
Via RT:
55,000 Muslims have gathered in the center of Moscow around the Cathedral Mosque to celebrate the greatest day for Muslims Eid ul-Fitr, known in Russia as Uraza bayram.
So many were eager to join in the morning prayer that they not only filled up the mosque, but also covered all neighboring streets and roads.
A special sermon, read for several hours by Russias Head Mufti, was amplified so that people outside the Mosque could hear it, too.
In his speech, the spiritual leader of Russian Muslims mentioned recent hardships the global Muslim community has gone through violent clashes in Kyrgyzstan, deadly floods in Pakistan and abnormal heat in Russia.
He said that smoke is considered, in the Koran, as Gods punishment to humans for their sins and recalled that the heat and fires decreased in the first days of August when the Muslims holy month of Ramadan began.
Eid ul-Fitr, or Uraza bayram, as it called in Russia, marks the end of a month-long fast when, for more than 30 days, all faithful Muslims cannot eat any food while the sun shines.

ruth
Thank you Ruth, I’m not sure what they would want with that either, the chocolate is a different sotry :)
With all the stolen stuff in the last 9 years - someone has a good stockpile for who knows what, but some of it will mean mayhem for a lot of people when they decide to use it.
Just keeping an eye on the San Francisco Gas explosion word has it that where the explosion happened was a clean cut something not quite right about this. Gas Company says they had no one working in that area on the gas line. There are millions of gas lines running under the goround through out the country. Maybe something to keep an eye on.

The men, two from Russia and one from Kazakhstan, were found near Georgia Powers Plant McIntosh on Old Augusta Road about 1 a.m. Sunday after a ranger with the Department of Natural Resources reported a suspicious vehicle, Effingham County sheriffs spokesman David Ehsanipoor said.
Deputies reported the men, who were inside a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder, had a machete, shovel, wire cutters and ski masks. One man also had black silk stockings in his front left pocket.

The three were released after being interviewed by task force members, Ehsanipoor said.
“They did all have visas that allowed them to be here and are supposed to be leaving the country soon.”

Would the editors and DeAnn Komanecky care to explain why the religion of these individuals from Russia and Kazakhastan were not researched and revealed for this article? Or is it too much for the Savannah Now rag to mention Islam in connection with what has all the appearance of a terrorist exercise? And would the editors and DeAnn Komanecky care to explain why the newspaper and alleged journalist failed to mention the power plant’s close physical proximity to Fort Stewart, the largest U.S. army installation east of the Mississippi, training ground for tens of thousands of U.S. soldiers annually, and organizing point for U.S. military movements to the Middle East? Do the editors at Savannah Now seriously claim that they run an honest, objective newspaper?

Tamil Congress says espionage is behind break-in
Published On Sun Sep 12 2010
Jayme Poisson Staff Reporter
The Canadian Tamil Congress fears the names of hundreds of Tamil asylum-seekers who boarded the MV Sun Sea and their families back home have been stolen in what they allege is either a hate crime or an act of international espionage.
We were targeted. We fully well know we were targeted because we were involved in this Sun Sea issue, said David Poopalapillai, national spokesperson for the Tamil congress.

Apparent suicide by cyanide prompts safety fears
NU lab tech found dead

Colleges and universities are targets of al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups
looking to gain chemical weapons to use against American targets,
Livingstone said. That’s because they don’t screen their students and
they’re often careless about who has access to dangerous chemicals,
Livingstone said.
“There isn’t adequate screening of who has access to chemicals or biological
weapons,” Livingstone said. “They’re reluctant because of ‘academic
freedom.’ “
The risk of cyanide falling into evil hands is an old worry of terrorism
watchers, said Paul M. Maniscalco, an expert on cyanide terrorism at George
Washington University in Washington, D.C.
“Cyanide is still being used by people with bad intentions,” Maniscalco
said.
He pointed to a domestic terrorist, Joseph Konopka, aka “Dr. Chaos, “ a
left-wing extremist who was caught in 2002 with a cache of cyanide hidden in
an abandoned Chicago subway tunnel.
But Walsh, the MIT terrorism expert, cautioned that many incidents of
dangerous chemicals stolen from college labs are used by the thief against
themselves and not others.
“It’s the jilted lover, the disgruntled employee, it’s the suicide not the
suicide attack,” Walsh said.

Iran Quietly Moves On Bahrain
September 13, 2010: Bahrain’s Sunni leaders are increasing efforts to round
up Shia citizens, and foreigners, believed to be plotting to overthrow the
government. Although Bahrain won’t accuse Iran publicly, many Bahrainis
believes that Iran is involved. Most Bahrainis are Shia, and Iranian leaders
openly express their belief that Bahrain is Iran’s 14th province. Bahrain’s
Sunni king is also concerned that the Iranians are trying to interfere with
the elections next month. The parliament is limited by royal power, but able
provide a platform for reformers, or Islamic conservatives. The political
situation in Kuwait is similar, which is one reason the Kuwaitis openly
support the Bahraini government.
Last month, Bahrain warned Kuwait and Saudi Arabia that it had uncovered a
plot involving hundreds of sleeper agents, organized into 40-50 cells. The
agents, often poor locals, as well as men from Iran, Yemen and Lebanon, were
financed by religious leaders and Islamic political parties. The plan was to
launch coordinated attacks in Bahrain, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. Bahrain
proceeded to arrest and question 250 suspects. Kuwait put the usual suspects
under greater scrutiny, and Saudi Arabia said nothing. Bahrain said the
attacks were to be carried out if Iran were attacked (presumably by Israel.)
Kuwait continues to openly support Bahrain in fighting this Shia conspiracy.

[Good report, lots of details, left me thinking that it was good to see the truth in print.
And then again, I couldn’t shake the thought that this is a brainwashing article, to prepare us for a war in Iran.....
