I sort of agree.

There was no such thing as a “tea party” until that guy on CNBC (Rick Santelli) did his rant about where we were and used the two words together. He tapped into a vein of built up frustration and the words “tea party” went viral.

Over the summer the “town hall” events also became “tea party” events and “tea partiers” more or less morphed into words for average Americans who had real economic concerns and real concerns about the direction the country was headed.

Then, somewhere along the way - the two meanings of the word “party” became conflated. The original Boston Tea Party was a “party” more in the sense of a birthday party than it was a “party” in the sense of, say, the Whig Party.

But all of a sudden people speak about “The Tea Party” as a nascent 3rd party movement. How we changed from one meaning to another was never made clear to me.

But my overriding concern is that (as Rush as said) the “Tea Party” plays right into the goals of the RAT communist party. Whatever we gain in terms of activating the base, we’re sure to lose more due to the fragmentary effects of a third party. The RATs and the State run media know this and play it up for all it’s worth.

I’m with Reagan who say the path to real change as being through the Republican party, which unlike the “tea party”, has at least a shot at effecting said change.

My opinion: Sarah Palin has been able to excite conservatives and others to do more then sit on the couch.. and that’s bad how? These people are donating money to candidates all over the country, something that probably has never been done by this many people. NY-23 comes to mind. That was going on before Palin supported him. I’ve been giving to Rubio before most knew who he was....and I’m not from FL, but I loathe Crist, and again, Sarah wasn’t part of my decision since she had not expressed an opinion at the time nor do I even know if she knew about him at the time.

What Sarah has done is help the Tea Party by bringing together people who always thought everything would never change. I hope she keeps on doing it.

Who is the leader of the Tea Party? I don’t know and if there is a puppetmaster, he’s certainly not doing a good job and getting his candidate out there. We don’t have a leader, but our numbers make hugh differences in elections. That is proven.

If she had turned her back on McCain, I’m not sure what I would have thought about her. Even people interviewed that went to see her with McCain admitted that they were there to see her, not him. Those interviewed also said they were voting for the other guy. Group think? I think not.

We have enough problems with the Obama Zombies without conservatives trying to turn us into them in the media. I’ve also learned that there is a big difference between plain old conservatives and those with libertarian leanings. Paulinista’s would rather throw their vote away, or not vote, and allow a progressive marxist communist to run the country into the ground rather then making sure that didn’t happen.

This is MY opinion, and for a time being we can still express them.
