Earlier this week, President Obama addressed a crowd of gushing students and selected guests at Arcadia University in a suburb of Philadelphia to promote his final push for healthcare reform. It was a beautiful day for late winter, magnifying the gathered group's existing enthusiasm and after the usual "I/we love you(s)" from the crowd the President wasted little time before turning to his usual tones of demagoguery.
A moment or two into the speech, the President characteristically accused the Insurance Companies of arbitrarily causing the extra inflationary costs of healthcare coverage and for other ills of our healthcare system:
See, these Insurance Companies have made a calculation. Listen to this. The other day, there was a conference call that was organized by Goldman Sachs. You know Goldman Sachs. You've been hearing about them, right? (Laughter.) So they organized a conference call in which an insurance broker was telling Wall Street investors how he expected things to be playing out over the next several years, and this broker said that Insurance Companies know they will lose customers if they keep on raising premiums, but because there's so little competition in the insurance industry, they're okay with people being priced out of the insurance market because, first of all, a lot of folks are going to be stuck, and even if some people drop out, they'll still make more money by raising premiums on customers that they keep.

“Healthcare inflation” is at least a three legged stool when it comes to escalating costs, and all three legs bear some of the burden for the problem.
The first leg, Medical welfare, is the actual culprit, which, as the socialists are wont to do, legislate ever expanding eligibility and benefits of “free healthcare”
The second leg, the providers (hospitals, doctors, nursing homes etc) who either get under-compensated compared to their own costs (and to the tune of pennies on the dollar) or not compensated at all...engage in a self preservation tactic known as “cost shifting” where they transfer this bad debt to the insured or cash paying customers.
Cost shifting should be made illegal, AND governments should not be allowed to stiff the providers.
The third leg, the insurance carriers, are guilty of allowing the cost shifting to occur as they know the actual provider costs.
The money they pay out in claims are generally 75 to 85% of the premium which they continually seek to raise.
Government heal thyself...reform overly generous medical welfare, ban cost shifting and allow interstate insurance competition.
Shut up and leave us alone.
And we can hope the anger will sweep out the RINOS.

Code Red - House Target List on Health Care
The National Republican Congressional Committee has published a target list on health care. In addition to continuing to contact the five Tennessee Democrat Congressmen, you can go http://www.votervoice.net/link/clickthrough/ext/94697.aspx to contact some of these targets. Much of the talk following Obamas announcement has focused on how to defeat this second bill through reconciliation, but that is misleading because the first step to defeating Obamacare is not by concentrating on defeating the fixer bill but by defeating the Senate bill in the House when it goes to the floor for an up-or-down vote on Thursday, March 18th.

And you have to get approval from GOVERNMENT health ins for certain procedures or medicines. They want to pay only for generics, when the generic may NOT be the best drug for your condition. Or have nasty side effects because of the different fillers that the name brand doesn’t. Why prescribe a generic when you have to test 3-4 times a year, when with the name brand you have to test 2 times a year.
