I feel for this guy, I really do. However, as he was part of the Army Officer Corp I would expect better leadership out of him. He made several poor choices along with the unit commanders, in which he’s paying for now. It is war, but as soon as we drop our standards we have lost that war. Besides, in that inviroment there are better ways to get your revenge/justice than a Saddam style execution.

Sometimes we need to get the perspective of a patriotic vet who's been there and knows the way things should work. There does seem to be a bias in the political arena to go after our own men, but I also know that our guys are human also. Although I wouldnt expect ex-marines to be libs, I know some, like infamous Murtha, are. As long as youre not a flaming liberal, Id like to see more of your thoughts on this case.
