You ever wonder why Texas joined the union?

Yes, when oil prices are high I do wonder.
As a Tennessean who grew up 2 miles from Sam Houston’s home in Tennessee, I say, You are welcome.......

Thank you. The Vols were key to eventual victory. Especially Sam Houston.
I went to the Key Club convention in Houston in 1974. We made a special trip to the Alamo. What a feeling to be there.

BEST decision I ever made:
Throwing all my possessions into the back of my jeep and driving 1200 miles from NC to Texas in order to start my life over.....
Would someone propose a law that any new people who enter Texas are not left wing loons who destroy all that is good in Texas by turning it into another New Jersey.
Hey Texas Peartree, come on over to Virginia and let me show you Yorktown. You know the battle that defeated the British and secured Americas independence. Unlike the Alamo, we won our battle.

Say, didn’t Virginia also vote for Obama? We won our fair share of battles, too. Ask Robert E. Lee what he thought of Texas’ soldiers. The Battle of San Jacinto was right after the Alamo.
I lived in Virginia for my first post-law school job, and it is great.
I understand Texas was broke at the time, but dang-—why did Texas have to sell some of the best ski slopes to the US?
Also, didn’t the French prevent the evacuation of the British at Yorktown (vaguely remembering from school)? If we had had an assist at the Alamo, maybe we’d have won there, too.
Right you are, Texas Peartree...

Thought that would get a rise. As I recall Bobby Lee was a Virginian and he did have a good opinion of Texans. Likewise North Carolinians. Just thought you needed your Texas cage rattled a little. Groove on Texas Peartree.

Another Virginia triumph, getting the French to fight.
No worries, equalitybeforethelaw. We Texans need our egos checked from time to time.

None intended - just fun. Now if you are a Dallas Cowboys fan we are going to go to fist city.
The greatest team to ever step foot on a football field. And I can see why you're jealous. LOL!
Now THAT is an accomplishment!!!!!!!!!!!
