I was amazed to learn that Debra Medina was considered a viable candidate for the Senate.
And who made that determination?

I haven’t seen any indications that Dan Patrick has his eyes on the Senate. Lt. Gov. Dewhurt has already talked about running for the seat if Kay leaves.

Medina is toast regardless of which office she seeks.

And John Sharp isn’t the only Democrat running for the Senate seat. Bill White, who’s running for governor, has already announced he is running for senate. He even announced this before he started running for governor.

Viable?............. lol
She may make an attempt but that’s about the extent of it, imo.

Sometime pollsters add names like Medina’s to test for name recognition and popularity. I doubt she would want to jump for Kaye Bailey Useless’s or John Crony seats.

Medina considered running for dog catcher but every time she went to the pound to try and find out what the dog catcher did she ended up locked in a cage.

Do you remember if this was Global Stragety Polling? If so they have done polling for Sharp in the past and did on in 09 basically looking at him versus Dewhurst with a few other thrown in.

Who would choose Medina over Michael Williams?
Not conservatives. Trufers, I guess.

When? In 2012? After Kay Bailout Hutchison loses her primary bid against Perry, I bet she’ll just serve out the rest of her term that expires January 3, 2013. The field of candidates in the 2012 Republican primary to replace Hutchison will be extremely deep. There will be lots of heavyweight candidates like Railroad Commissioner Michael Williams and Attorney General Greg Abbott. Medina is an extreme lightweight in comparison.

So I get a call this morning from a polling company.I got a call from Michael Reagan yesterday with a poll. Unfortunately, after his intro he hung up on me. Whatever.

It’s actually funny to think of Medina going to Washington. She’d do us less harm, because she’d rant and rave and make it less likely that anything would get done.
I’d still like to hear about one bill she’s lobbied for in Austin, one night when she sat up waiting for her turn to testify in committee, or where she was when we FReepers were protesting in Austin because the dems ran to OK or NM or why she didn’t join us in Washington for so many of our rallies, so many times.
