Same here. Toshiba laptop. Fall of 2007. Got it cheap and almost bought a new one for $199 or $299, I forget which, right before Christmas. I hate Windows, but Mac’s just cost too much.

I would like a Mac, they’re beautiful. But I have built-in tech support at home with someone who is an IT professional and knows windows machines inside and out. I’d have no help with Macs, though.
I got my Toshiba this fall, and my daughter got hers about two years ago, after the last Dell died. Not a single problem so far. Windows 7 has been great, Webroot has done a good job of keeping me safe.
