We own a Dell pc with Windows XP. It’s maddening to have to deal with all the virus’, etc., but what are ya gonna do. We own the darn thing. So, I do not want to deal with the same issues with our laptop.

RachelFaith, what you’re saying about the cost/time effectiveness sounds wise to me.

For recording the BEST is “Logic Pro” software. And the training for it is called “Lynda”. It’s a video training, so you do not need to BE anywhere to get it, and it IS the training video all Mac Employees use. Hands down it is simple, monkey see and monkey learn to do very quickly.

I do recordings too, for Rock Bands.

If you need a built-in babysitter, go get a Mac.

Those who are actually honest computer experts will tell you that since Vista, there is essentially no difference in the functionality or security of either operating system. Windows 7 is susbtantially better at saving computer users from themselves, which is apparently what today’s dependent society wants. I’m somewhat amazed that our own conservative members here are willing to pay more solely to have somebody (or something) “take care of them” while they surf the internet.

So much for personal responsibility. “I didn’t do it! It was Microsoft’s fault!”
