Were just days from the installment of Republican Chris Christie as New Jerseys new governor. I admit Ive had pangs of worry that, despite promises of changing the way business is done in heavily Democrat New Jersey, Christie was going to end up just another establishment elitist politician once he moved into Trenton.
But my worries were assuaged by two bits of news, which I heard about this morning on NJ 101.5 FM. First, his appointment of anti-NJEA Republican Bret Schundler as education commissioner:
N.J. Gov.-elect Christie targets teachers' union with Schundler appointment

TRENTON Sitting in his transition office a few block from the state capitol in Trenton, Chris Christie was in full battle mode today, like a boxer who couldnt wait to climb into the ring and start pounding away. In fact, he wasnt waiting.
His target: The 200,000-member strong New Jersey Education Association, the most muscular special interest group in town.
Christie threw the first jab earlier in the day by appointing as education commissioner former Jersey City Mayor Bret Schundler, a national leader in the movement for school vouchers and a long-time nemesis of the NJEA. ...
I have to say this appointment is a really ballsy move by Christie. I like Bret Schundler; I voted for him in the 2005 Republican primary, but he got beaten out by whatshisface and the rest is history.
But Christies not done: Hes on the verge of undoing Jon Corzines gifting of taxpayer-funded goodies on his Democrat cronies who run what are called distressed

GOOD!
Wouldn’t that be
Ruffle Feathers?
This is a very good start indeed for our new governor. In NJ we pay the highest property taxes and the highest per student cost for education in the country. The schools in the poorest districts receive more than $20,000.00 per student and the drop out rate and performance rates are more like Haiti.
Public education positions are a jobs program for NJ’s most ill-equipped college graduates. For example Newark has one of the lowest performing school systems, but has more than 100 ADMINISTRATORS that are paid in excess of $ 100,000.00 per year. The NJEA union has destroyed public education. It is way past time to get around the union. The NJEA has caused untold waste, agony and loss of potential and promise; they all should be jailed for what they have done to the children of this state.
Governor Christie has a chance to do the unthinkable and that is take control of the education and put the children first. The NJEA is not going to take this lying down.
First order of business: remove all leftist appointees possible, ASAP. Next: desperately search for non-RINOs to fill the positions (that will be the hardest task here in NJ).
oh cr** you’re right! fixed
Christie is hitting the ground running. I like him.
Schundler should be a Senator or President.
But then, NJ is filled with rustlers. Stealing from the citizenry.
