Yeah, and when I think of that, I think of Daniel. He was taken captive and carried off to another country. He did well in that other country and was "captive" there for the rest of his life, but he did pray for Israel, nonetheless.
It might not change your own life, but it may have some effect in future generations even if we are still captive and still under judgement, like Daniel was.
It wasn't Daniel himself that was under judgment, but he was part of the nation that got carried away captive and thus, he was under that judgment too, as part of the nation, but not for something he did individually.
Many of us will find ourselves in that same type of situation.
