I woke up last night in pain. So off to any Dr. that is open today. Of course we are expecting a huge snowstorm.

Worst case scenario....4 broken bones....best case...only sprain or jam.

Miss Peach was able to spit her pill out three times before I finally got it down her. She looks pretty good this a.m.

Baytril is used in lower doses in cats, but there can be side effects:

Neurological Side Effects -— Baytril can cause seizures, depression and lethargy in cats.
Behavioral Side Effects -— Baytril can cause vocalization and aggression in cats.
Serious Side Effects -— In rare instances, Baytril can lead to a loss of vision in cats that in very rare cases can be permanent.

Also, there are many canned cat foods of all different brands and price ranges that are OK-to-great for diabetic cats, you just need to learn to read the side label. Even a few really inexpensive WalMart brands are OK -— the canned Salmon Dinner comes to mind as one for about 50 cents a can.

The problem with homemade diets is that the vitamin/mineral/essential protein balance is hard to get just right; and raw diets sometimes have salmonella and ecoli issues that aren’t fun to deal with, especially in an already sick cat.

As far as feeding a good meat diet at meals and then letting the cats snack on dry food (dry kibble = “cat cookies”) in between -—
my brother ate the great nutritious and healthy meals his wife prepared for him (for nearly 50 years now, their 50th is this spring) but snacked on cookies, doughnuts/donuts, candy, and all sorts of other high carb junk in between meals, and he is a type 2 diabetic now -—
just saying!!!

Good luck with your arm!!! Hope there is nothing broken there.
