Oh, for heaven’s sake. No, the military NEVER ships equipment on trains unless it is to impose martial law. I remember this sort of silliness from 10 years ago....

Not true. I am a railroad brat. Both my dad and brother worked for Southern Pacific.

My brother worked in the Roseville yard. The military often had hardware shipped by train. Covered in tarps on flatbeds with 3 or 4 armed Marine Guards. The guys in the yard were not allowed to come within 100-200 feet of the cars either.

One time my brother got a little too close. He worked with the yard master checking the line up of the cars. The Marine told my brother to back off!!! Not too kindly either.
