"...Maybe parts of California could use it since they might turn off the welfare spigot. Riots...."?

You jest, but that is a very possible outcome. When the U.S. Governemt defaults on it's debt and can no longer pay the ghetto heathens, they will erupt with a righteous anger made possible solely by a lifelong sense of entitlement, with a dash of white-hatred.

It has been written that psychologically, social welfare for the lower classes is merely a payoff to reward proper behavior. When that reward is removed, our cities will erupt in flames.

I went to a WalMart near my house for the first time yesterday. Although nearby, it is on the other side of the 610 freeway, and getting to it, and back home, is a bit of a hassle. After seeing the utter anarchy, rudeness, and self-serving behavior among the patrons, I say THANK GOD FOR THE FREEWAY, as it keeps that demographic away from my home. That said, I had previously drafted plans for barricading* my neighborhood in times of emergency, but now those plans take on increased importance.

Hey Dallas, have you ever been in IH-35, south of Dallas, in June and July? The Texas Army National Guard has miles long columns of troops going to and from annual training at Fort Hood.

And keep your tinfoil hat handy if you ever take IH-37 from San Antonio to Corpus Christi. Texas National Guard units deploying to and from overseas ship vast quantities of gear through port Corpus Christi, and move it by truck, or rail, between there and their home armories.

Why are tanks moving from Canada to CA? Are we now BUYING our tanks in Canada? I’d like to hear the answer to that question with much of the American automotive industry out of work.

Interesting idea, barricading a neighborhood.

Yes. Apparently these folks have never seen the Army move equipment to and from NTC, Ft Irwin, Ft Polk, etc.

Indeed!

The Ascended One would lose the Reserves and the National Guard, but I am not so sure about all of the Regular Army. Is not a sizeable percent of the Army non citizen (mercenary in exchange for citizenship)? Also given the interdependence of the food, energy, and communication networks, the population could be brought into line through control of a few stategic points. The three percenters and oathkeepers I am sure could not be supressed, but ninety seven percent of the nation would submit due to deprivation.

psssttt...Did you know there is a Luftwaffe base in Texas? Even more chilling, I several times moved loads of German ordnance from bunkers in a U.S. facility directly to German ships moored in one of our harbors.

Some of you people need to lighten up.

Øbama would be smart to anticipate an armed uprising. It IS coming.

Unfortunate for him, the national guard, military, state and local police would be on the front lines against him.

You do realize that the WHOLE Canadian military has only slightly over 100 main battle tanks, and a large number of those are already deployed to Afghanistan, don't you?

You do also realize that there has been NO .. repeat, NO .. train or transporter movements of armored vehicles from Fort Hood .. the largest armored base in the free world .. anywhere in the last several months, don't you?

What a load of bilious horse dung. If you're going to keep your head wrapped in aluminum foil, at least put it into the oven so that it cooks properly.

I live near a large Army base ... they have a huge train yard (marshaling yard?) ... equipment of all sorts is being loaded and unloaded on a regular basis. Nothing unusual about trains transporting military equipment ... after all, we are fighting a war in Afghanistan & to a lesser extent in Iraq.

You do realize that the Big Three all have mfg plants in Canada, don’t you? My ‘94 T/A was built in GM’s St. Therese plant in Quebec.

And the new border fences are to keep people in, not out, right?

Which brings up the point that if the Canadian Army wanted to transport trucks, tracks and tanks to Afghanistan, it would be reliant on US transport to do so. This would likely be from the Port of Seattle, where the US military already ships a lot of cargo.

Well, duh! Of course I do. But we are now talking about USA citizens and their families who are out of work and will be observing a very slim Christmas. We are talking about USA jobs going across borders.

I love the Canadians, but our own families need jobs too. So, any manufacturing plant (or bank, or insurance company) that received taxpayer bailouts needs to be spending those $$$ at home and on USA jobs.

Hey, you're talking to the wrong person here. The government owns GM. Talk to them. Oh wait, they don't listen to us anyway.

No, you got the point exactly. Why is the production of our military hardware in the hands of foreigners? We have automotive plants sitting idle all over the USA. Why doesn’t the government hire our own people to produce tanks, instead of buying them from another country?

We used to have laws that prevented this from happening. Mmmmm, Mmmmmm, Mmmmmmm!

No, it wouldn’t.

Imagine turning on your TV tomorrow morning and seeing a scrolling message across the bottom of the screen. The message reads: MARTIAL LAW IMPOSED. Curfew 6:00 p.m. Persons found in public after 6:00 p.m. will be arrested and their vehicles seized.”

Are you going to risk losing your car and going to for-real jail away from your family?

Maybe you would. The average person won’t.
