ROME — A man hit Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi after a political meeting on Sunday leaving him with a bloodied face and forced to spend the night in hospital.
The 73-year-old tycoon politician was bundled into a car by aides and quickly driven off to hospital in Milan where he will stay for 24 hours, ANSA news agency quoted doctors as saying.
Police immediately arrested a man who was taken to the local headquarters. ANSA said he had a history of mental health problems.
ANSA quoted medical officials as saying Berlusconi lost two teeth in the attack.
I’m pretty sure it wasn’t a fist to the mouth. if you pause it around 0:47, you can see a gash underneath his eye also. He was definitely dazed.
