“4. Laundry. “Cleanliness has become a touchstone of domestic life since advertisers convinced us that our shirts must always be ‘whiter than white’, our sheets should forever smell of spring flowers, and that to be dressed in freshly laundered clothes at all times is a badge of success.””

Well no wonder they are battling MRSA in Britain!!!

Holy Cow. I am NOT going to shower less (unless it is like it was a few years ago when we were suffering through a horrific drought and we live on a well) and risk not only GERMS AND DISEASE, but PARASITES!!

Hippies didn’t do the washing thing either and they battled the MANGE. Yes, scabies was rampant in communes from not bathing AND WASHING CLOTHES AND SHEETS.

Disgusting.

The twits don’t realize there are REASONS - not just whims - why people drink coffee, use new-fiber TP, churn thru clothing, do lots of laundry, and have so much food some gets wasted.

Alternatives to their complaints:
- drink only unpurified water (classic disease vector)
- scratch your *** off (I predict the author never used TP in Germany) or scrub it with ... more water
- wear out clothing with all the attendant problems
- wear dirty clothing (another disease vector)
- be under-fed.

Funny, the author doesn’t live up to her own list. Bio pic alone indicates she’s well-fed, well-watered, fashionably attired, clean in both body & clothes, and peppy enough to have just enjoyed a cup o’ joe.
