I remember at the time there was a lot of wailing about all the freepers being lost, and I remember looking at the time and not seeing any cases where somebody got banned that wasn't asking for it by becoming abusive.
It's a lot easier for somebody to prove the unjustified bannings happened if they actually did, than for me to prove it never happened. I could spend the next six months looking and looking, and if I can't find an instance of it happening, the response would simply be "Yeah, you just didn't look in the right place. Keep looking."
It's called the Bug Zapper Thread for a reason. The "RINO supporters" were drawn into an argument, ganged up on, and banned when they got frustrated.
