And 100 years ago in the South, when a black raped or murdered someone and got their neck stretched by an outraged public—that is supposed to be the ultimate horror(and don’t believe the revisionist history that it was for little/no reason for those events—any serious scholarly study of vigilantism/lynchings-ANY study that I have read, states that most of those who were on the receiving end were indeed guilty of those heinous crimes. There is a varying degree of PC outrage at the lack of due process, but not much as to the perp’s guilt in most cases)
