Louis Farrakhan Explains: Major Nidhal Hassan Was Cursed by Superiors and Fellow Soldiers
memritv.org ^ | Nov. 6, 2009

Following are excerpts from an interview with “Nation of Islam” Leader Louis Farrakhan, which aired on Al-Jazeera TV on November 6, 2009. The sub-titles follow the English original, where audible.

Interviewer: Let us begin with the most recent development on the American front, and the racial discrimination against Muslims and their persecution – the incident associated with Mr. Nidhal Hassan, a Muslim psychiatrist of Arab origin, who killed 13 soldiers at the US Fort Hood base. To what extent might this incident affect the Muslims in the US and make them targets of persecution?

[...]

Louis Farrakhan: As you know, since 9/11, in America and in other parts of the world, those anti-Islamic forces have stepped up their efforts to make Muslims... to cause the Muslims to be looked at as uncivilized, savage, or wicked people. This is an attempt by anti-Islamic forces, and some members of the Jewish community, and some members of the Christian community, who have united to condemn Islam and to speak ill of our Prophet Muhammad, and to even go so far as to say that the Muslims worship the devil.

[...]

It is because, my dear brothers and sisters, Islam was making so much progress in the United States that those anti-Islamic forces are trying to stem the tide of the progress of Islam.

[...]

This recent unfortunate event, which took place at the Fort Hood base in Texas, has only added fuel to the fire. On behalf of all the Muslims in the Muslim world, we are saddened by the loss of these 13 American soldiers and the thirty others who were wounded in the incident. No human being would be pleased to see that kind of slaughter, coming from a fellow officer in the US army.

However, we have to look at Major Nidhal Hassan. What happened to him? What kind of stress was he under? What kind of insults had he borne?

[...]

When there are Muslims who love America, and who join the armed forces to protect America, and to serve the interests of America, and then America, unfortunately, under the falsehoods of the George. W. Bush administration, launches attacks against Iraq and against Afghanistan, and now, those soldiers are killing Muslims... So when they go to war in Iraq and Afghanistan, the kind of hatred that is built up in the American forces, when they call the Muslims “ragheads” and “desert niggers,” and then, in the Abu Ghureib prison, Muslim women were raped, and Muslim men were sodomized... All this affects Muslims serving in the army. So when you are being insulted by your superior officers or by your fellow soldiers, at some point, a person might break. Unfortunately, I believe this is what happened to Captain Nidhal Hassan.

[...]

Interviewer: Let me take this phone call from Germany. Mr. Jibril.

Mr. Jibril (by phone): Hello. I have a complex question, which I’d like you to let me finish. It is directed to Mr. Farrakhan.

Interviewer: Go ahead.

Mr. Jibril: The Africans in America – or rather, the Afro-Americans – were subjugated for many years, and conducted a very long struggle for justice and equality, so they, of all people, best understand the issue of justice and equality. You are visiting Tripoli. You are, as a matter of fact, visiting a tyrannical regime, which is subjugating the Libyans and plundering their money. You are receiving impure money, plundered from the Libyan people. You are receiving it from Al-Qadhafi. Years ago, Al-Qadhafi killed 1,200 Libyan political prisoners within a matter of hours. He annihilated them. So how can you accept this, in the name of Islam, and in the name of our Afro-American brothers, who have tasted such suffering? How can you accept impure money from a tyrant?

Interviewer: We got the idea. Do you have any other question?

Go ahead, Mr. Louis Farrakhan.

Louis Farrakhan: I’m saying to you, sir, that we are not pillaging the wealth of Tripoli or Libya. Libya is not offering us money. The progress we have made in America is by the pooling of the nickels, and the dimes, and the dollars of the poor people who backed Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam. Let me ask you this, my dear brother. Is there one leader, one king, one ruler in the whole world who is not guilty of some sin?

Farrakhan making excuses for a mass murderer. Obama is a Farrakhan boy. Unreal.

Muslim can only be considered a "race" by those Islamic surpremacists who see the "kufir" non-muslims as subhumans.

Except at least one Imam has come out to celebrate the actions of Nadil Hassan.

Were muslim women raped in Abu Ghraib? Why is it only the muslim soldiers who snapped? Why not those who perpetrated the acts? They were ordered from above? Were the soldiers who raped white women (and yes, there has been prosecution) ALSO ordered to do so (I don't recall if they were Halliburton employees, or not)?

Treason is not protected speech.

What Screwy Louie is saying in essence is “Major” Handjob had been forced to tolerate outrages against his dignity and well-being, and could stand it no longer. He then took justified action.

I don’t agree with poor ‘lil Hasan being abused—it’s BS—but if it’s OK to explode in response to “rape”, killings etc and other outrages against one’s group—maybe some other groups need to see if they might be better off doing the same against those who victimize THEIR group. If it’s so reasonable for Hasan to snap—then why isn’t it reasonable for Americans to retaliate—every one from BO, to General Crazy, etc says WE shouldn’t do that. I beg to differ. The backlash is long overdue in my book.

Of course, Louie, Malik Handjob, and many others may not like being on the receiving end of all that—but what’s sauce for the goose......

No Major in the history of the United States Army has ever been “abused.” It is a ridiculous concept. ESPECIALLY if the Major also happens to be a member of a protected class.

Aside from that, I totally agree with abusing him. He’s a freedom hating moon worshiper living in the 6th century. He has openly supported militant Islam since college. Too bad it never happened. It surely wasn’t anyone lesser in rank than him “abusing” him...and if it were superiors, one complaint about the racist, bigoted officers oppressing him would have stopped it cold.

You’re right of course—I first heard that excuse in disbelief—what did some PFC make fun of a Major? Give me a break. Or did a Lt. Col. do so? yeah right. Especially, as you said, with the Muzzie trump card to play. And the Army, as evidenced by General Crazy, already bent over in submission.

You expect a whackjob like Louie to spew lies, but even I couldn’t believe the media on this. I know they are scumbags—I didn’t think they could ignore the facts when it was this clear....

The Islamic supremacists are unwilling to go to war against other muslims, even other muslims who “aren’t really following Islam because they engage in terrorism so don’t call it Islamic terrorism because it is not following the teachings of Islam”.

My Faith is insulted DAILY by the MSM. (I’m a Christian) My race has been insulted by Hollywood for most of it’s hundred year history (I’m an Indian), I live from check to check, and ALL of my collegues disagree with me politically (I am a Rock Musician). My mortgage is twice the worth of my house, and my Nation that I love is being taken over by an evil tyrant. I am under stress, but I STILL haven’t killed anybody! LOL. I don’t plan on it either.

No surprise Farrakhan is a liar.

Qaddafi has given money to Farrakhan. To say, "Libya is not offering us money" may be true at the moment LF made the statement, but Libya has certainly supported NOI in the past.

These are the blindmen, describing an elephant.

Islam was making so much progress in America. Why, they even had a couple of honor killings in America, not to mention 9/11 itself.

and then America, unfortunately, under the falsehoods of the George. W. Bush administration, launches attacks against Iraq and against Afghanistan, and now, those soldiers are killing Muslims...

An implicit, but nevertheless blatant and definite, rejection of the view that Iraq and Afghanistan were liberated. IOW, it's not about "killing Muslims." Saddam Hussein directly murdered about (very possibly over) a million Muslims in Iraq during his reign. He killed a million or two more in consequence of his aggressive wars against Iran and Kuwait.

If it was about "killing Muslims" then Saddam Hussein killed more Muslims than anyone, any time, in all of human history, possibly (but only possibly) excluding Genghis Khan. George W. Bush should be forever praised by Muslims for ending the depredations of Saddam Hussein.

Even if you ignore Saddam Hussein, and just look at the Iraq war without him, it's still not about "killing Muslims." Even the virulently anti-war, and anti-Bush, "body count" tabulators, despite probable attempts to slant the figures as much as possible, couldn't help documenting that the insurgents, and other anti-American, anti-government forces, killed several times as many Muslims, and far more innocent civilians (who they targeted intentionally, bombing mosques, marketplaces, hospitals, schools, etc) than died at the hands of American forces.

No. It's not about killing Muslims. Killing Muslims -- by the dozens, hundreds, or thousands, and cumulatively in the hundreds of thousands and millions -- has never been a problem for Calypso Louie and those of like mind.

But if a non-Muslim kills a Muslim -- never mind that it be in the course of a just war; never mind that it be in the name of, and with the effect of, defending Muslim civilians from Muslim murderers -- that's a problem. That's the only problem.

On balance, and factually (just adding up the numbers) Louie is FOR, not against, "killing Muslims."
