Here is video of the "Fox News Sunday" panel discussing the decision to try the 9/11 terrorists in NY.
Bill Kristol said that the trial will be "a disgusting circus" and that "were going to have another O.J. Simpson trial in New York."
Juan Williams said the trial will be "a restatement of American values" and called 9/11 a "crime." Liz Cheney responded saying "it is completely inappropriate and dangerous to keep calling it a crime, it wasn't a crime, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is not a criminal, he is an enemy combatant of the United States, this was a terrorist attack. They declared war on America." (Video)

How this pans out will depend on whether it’s a Tim McVeigh trial, or an O.J. trial.
Once again, Juan Williams makes a strong case for the “Idiot of the Century” award...
IMHO, except for a few rare cases, most agree that this is a huge error, a travesty of justice, a slap in the face to the US Constitution, a direct insult to the survivors of an act of war on American soil, a dishonoring of all those who had their lives taken from them by these scum, a violation of the rules of war, and a terrorist triumph that can only lead to a complete corruption of justice and the freeing of fellow islamic muslim terrorists by the islamic muslim-in-chief's administration.
What is sadly missing....what is never spoken.....is WHAT CAN BE DONE ABOUT IT? NOW!
This question is never addressed....never asked....never spoken of.
WHY?
Shut up, Juan.
Let’s suppose these 5 pukes do go to trial in NYC with all the granted protections of American citzens and are found guilty?
Do they get have the right to appeal and continue to appeal, even with petitioning the our Supreme Court????
” WHAT CAN BE DONE ABOUT IT? NOW! “
I spoke to a friend who knows about such things , today.
I said I had read that it’s too late to stop this , it’s already in the pipeline.
His opinion was that it’s not yet in the pipeline, so to speak and if there was enough of a public outcry, Holder might be forced to back off.
And this decision was made at the Executive level by Barry.
Have no doubts.
He heard-not sure where-some fleeting discussion of keeping it a civilian trial, but, relocating the thing back to Gitmo for security reasons.
But, the logistics of bringing federal judges and juries to Gitmo makes that situation completely impossible.
So, that’s a non starter.
From what I can gather-this is breaking down officially along party lines.
Republicans aghast and Democrats in agreement , but, it wouldn’t hurt to let your elected officials know how you feel.
If the Republicans had a strong leader at the RNC-this could be another election issue in 2010.
The Trial of all Crimes, except in Cases of Impeachment, shall be by Jury; and such Trial shall be held in the State where the said Crimes shall have been committed; but when not committed within any State, the Trial shall be at such Place or Places as the Congress may by Law have directed.
Since these people did not commit the crime, rather they conspires too outside the US, Congress must direct where such trial will take place.
conspires=conspired sigh
Juan Williams PBS (Pure BS) libtard commentator comes through again. I can’t stand it when his mouth is moving!
Our tax money is going to Juan and Mara via PBS
Our tax money is going to Juan and Mara via PBS
I must have meant it as I said it twice
Sure wish someone in the media would ask this question.
As I understand the Obama administration has said the military tribunals are fine and they will use them on a number of prisoners however this is supposed to show how wonderful we are (they really mean Obama)
This was all discussed this morning and it is clear this is a political decision
Yes, this question should be asked long and loud.
Before this decision was made, I had heard that they had to decide whether to try them in civilian or military court. I was under the impression that this decision was up to the Justice Department/Attorney General, and that it was his decision to make. There is no legal requirement that KSM and his guys be tried in civilian court.
So is this suppused to prove that we are now living up to our highest ideals? Obama has repeatedly said that we haven’t always lived up to our highest ideals. So now he can prove to liberals/radicals/Bin Laden/other Muslim terrorists that we administer justice in a certain way. Does this make us safer? Does it enhance national security? Is Bin Laden so impressed by this type of action that Jihad against America will now cease? Is our president naive??????? Is our president blinded by the fact that he is very very liberal, and doesn’t know what the real world impacts of this will be??????
Correct. This decision is purely arbitrary. In 2006, Congress passed a law setting up the rules for military tribunals, by an overwhelming margin.
Even those most familiar with these cases are not sure what criteria was used to separate out some for civilian and others for military tribunals, but most agree it smacks of politics, and the opportunity to put the government -- the pre-Obama government, and the U.S. itself by extension -- on trial.
