The only problem is that Y2K was real. It happened because of a known problem that could be verified and demonstrated. The wasn't a catastrophe because many of us worked long hours to prevent it.

The 2012 scare has no basis in fact at all. Even Mayan shaman say it's not the end of the world, it's the end of one era and the beginning of a new one.

I think parts of Y2K were real and were fix. Some of it was phony. To what extent no one really know.

I was one of the “chosen” one who got to monitor the federal government for any signs of planes/satellites falling from the skies, ocean liners crashing due to faulty GPS, or the electric power grid collapsing. While everyone was partying I was held up in a bunker. I feel like Lucy who sat with Linus in the pumpkin patch on Halloween night and was cheated out of candy.

I’m going to have to check, but IIRC, the Indian “Yuga” cycle is due for a change to a new state sometime soon as well (that’s India Indian, not Native American).

Its funny that the companies who spent no money on Y2K had the same number of problems as companies that spent MILLIONS.
